Course Length: 8 hours

This course will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to deliver quality trauma care in less than ideal environments.  You will learn to overcome the unique challenges and considerations that may come with providing traumatic injury care.  In this course, you will learn the following:

1. Develop a plan to assess and manage a scene where a potentially traumatic injury or injuries may exist, where resources may be limited and environments uncertain.

2. Acquiring proficiency in applying trauma care interventions.

3. Gain knowledge of special considerations that may exist for field trauma scenarios.

4. Be exposed to skills such as tourniquet application, wound packing, chest seal applications, airway and respiration management, and hypo and hyperthermia treatments.

5. Practice effective communication and teamwork in a field trauma response setting.

6. Understand the principles of medical evacuation and coordination of care with professional responders.

7. Utilize simulation exercises to re-create field trauma scenarios and practice decision making under pressure.

**This course has no requisite and is open to all ages, with parental consent**
